BCISD puts hold on engineering inspection

Bay City ISD’s Board of Trustees Monday declined to spend $120,000 for to get an engineering inspection in order to obtain a windstorm certificate on Bay City High School until more research can be done.

Board member John DeWitt said that an engineering inspection of the building had to have been done back when it was completed in 2000. He said a follow up with the engineering firm to see if that inspection had taken place when the building was completed. It was also suggested that a copy of the inspection could be in storage within the district.
