Money, drugs seized during Task Force raid
The Matagorda County Task Force executed a search warrant on a home Aug. 24 that resulted in the seizure of 315 grams of methamphetamine and an undisclosed amount of money.
Officers arrested George Richard Wilson, 47, of Bay City and charged him with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony.
“Congratulations to the task force on a job well done,” said Matagorda County Sheriff Frank “Skipper” Osborne. “This is one of the task forces many successful operations and possibly the largest methamphetamine seizure ever in Matagorda County.”
The search warrant was executed in the 3700 block of 7th Street and during the search 315 grams of methamphetamine estimated at a street value of $30,000 was seized.
The Matagorda County Task Force is comprised of officers from the Matagorda Sheriff’s office, the Bay City Police Department and the Palacios Police Department. The task force was created by all three agencies with the express purpose of taking drugs and all drug-related activities off the streets in Matagorda County.
