BCPD investigating Saturday shooting


Bay City Police are investigating an aggravated assault of a man that had to be LifeFlighted to Houston following the incident Saturday, June 29.

According to police reports, on Saturday, June 29, shortly before 1 a.m., officers were dispatched to a call of shots fired in the area of 12th Street and Avenue K.  Officers arrived in the area and began checking when they were notified that there was a gunshot victim at the emergency room.

Upon arrival at the emergency room, officers were notified there was a 26-year-old male with a gunshot wound. There was a witness on location at the emergency room that took officers to the location where the victim was shot. The incident occurred in the 1600 block of Avenue K.  

The victim was transported by Life Flight to Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston.  Currently detectives are still investigating the incident.
