City's newest hotel sets opening for Monday

Published November 15, 2009

Owners of the new Hampton Inn & Suites, Jay Patel and Prashant Patel, will open the doors of Bay City's newest hotel on Monday, Nov. 16, inviting local residents and travelers to enjoy the contemporary-styled, high quality accommodations.

The 86-room Hampton Inn & Suites is owned by the Patel's Fortress Hospitality and will be operated by Titan Hotels Group.

Hampton is a part of Hilton Hotels Corporation, which franchises many of its best known hotel brands.

"This will be the first Hilton in the area," said Prashant Patel, who along with his partner have selected many of the style elements that make the Bay City Hampton Inn & Suites unique.

"The stonework on the building's exterior is similar to our Mt. Pleasant property. It's going to be our signature style," he said.

Guests are greeted by the sleek styles of the "perfect mix" lobby, which incorporates abstract art with modern interior décor.

The lobby is filled with tables, sofas and an inviting central "bar-style" counter complete with laptop connections on a high-speed dedicated T1 line.

Doors at the end of the lobby move aside to reveal an expansive breakfast area where the hotel will serve hot breakfast to guests every morning.

A sweet shop, stocked with accessories and amenities that can be charged to rooms, is available for guests, as well as a 24-hour business center that provides access for faxing, copying and computer usage.

A state of the art fitness center overlooks a 20,000-gallon outdoor pool and a 10-foot diameter hot tub.

The patio area offers a relaxed atmosphere with a fountain and music for guests to enjoy.

Each room number shows guests a unique black and white photo to help them more easily identify their room.

Suite dividers provide workspace within the suites as well as separate the bedroom area from the living space.

Visitors can adjust the 42-inch flat panel T.V. toward the living area for in-room presentations or toward the bed for relaxing entertainment.

The Hampton Inn & Suites also offers a meeting space and a boardroom.

"Hampton Hotels combine quality, service, comfort and plenty of value-added extras, making Hampton the brand of choice in the marketplace today," said Patty Coats, general manager for the Hampton Inn & Suites Bay City.

"Providing high quality accommodations and amenities combined with the friendly service of our team members, all backed by the 100 percent Hampton Satisfaction Guarantee, is why we will be highly competitive in our local market."
