The Matagorda County Fair & Livestock Association is preparing for next weekend's Bull Blast, to be held at the Matagorda County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the event are on sale now at the fair office, Wild Bill's Western Wear (Bay City and El Campo), Bay City Feed, and Prosperity Bank (Bay City and Palacios).

Pre-sell tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children. On the day of the event tickets will be $18 for adults and $10 for children.

VIP tickets are also available for $50, which include a prime rib dinner with beer, margarita and non-alcoholic beverages, dessert, special seating during the bull riding, snacks and drinks during the bull riding, inside parking and a dance with Sam Silva and the Good.

Parking inside the gate will also be available for handicapped guests.

This year's musical guests, Sam Silva and the Good, will be bringing a unique sound to Bull Blast that everyone can enjoy.

It's hard to put a label on the Austin based band, who's style is influenced by rock, blues and country.

Their debut album, See You Around, was released in the summer of 2008 and drew critical acclaim with comparisons to The Killers, Steve Earle, and Texas legend Robert Earl Keen.

Texas Music Magazine said that the group seemed to "channel the best of The Band and the Counting Crows."

The MCFLA would also like to announce that they have a growing online presence that can be accessed for further information and the latest news.

The Web site, at www.matagordacountyfair.com, offers details on upcoming events and an area to download documents, such as competition entry forms.
