Letters to the Editor - The Bay City Tribune: Opinion

Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor,

I know that the city will have to decide to see whether they want a strong mayor vs. a city manager. I know that people will look at this and worry about the salary and start-up cost, but please go beyond this and think about what this change brings. It brings to the city a person who will be qualified to make decisions about how to run a city. Currently, there is nothing in the qualification for mayor that says the candidate need to know how to run a city. Look at the latest fiasco that happened. There was no oversight on the Nile River project and now we have a $10 million “Highway to Nowhere.”

    Vetreran Day 2012 vs 2011
I was at 2-K for the Verteran Day meal yesterday. The treatment I rec'd from the waitress was very poor. I felt that I was treated like I was when I returned to the States from Viet Nam in the late 60's and early 70's. I feel that I was treated like I had the plague. This was a complete 180 from 2011 Veteran Day when the waiter treated me like a person and veteran not like someone who was there for a free meal. The waitress completely ingnored me after my meal was served. All I ask is to be treated like a human being. If this is the type of wait staff that 2-K has; then I will never eat a meal there and advise other veterans to eat elsewhere.
