            Ronald “Ronnie” Stenson O’Neal, 78 years old, passed away January 26, 2019.

            Services will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 3000 9th Street, Bay City, Texas, on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 2 p.m.  Pastor Pete Lopez will officiate.

            Burial will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.

            Visitation will be Tuesday, January 29, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, 2313 Avenue I, Bay City, Texas.

            Ronnie was born November 28, 1940 in Clarita, Oklahoma to F.E. and Virginia O’Neal.  He graduated from Bishop High School and attended Texas A&I University.  He served in the military as an Army reservist from 1961 - 1967.  

            He met the love of his life, Faye, and married her January 7, 1963.  He was a longtime resident of Bay City.  He retired after 35 years from the Celanese Chemical Company in 2000 as a Maintenance Engineering Group Leader.

            He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and was active in the Bay City community.  He loved to play golf, hunt in Bandera, travel, spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and play with his two dogs, Addie and Tootsie.  He volunteered numerous hours to the Bay City Little League and the Baycel Golf Club.  He took special pride in keeping a beautiful yard. After retirement, his love of landscaping allowed him to work with St. Peter Lutheran Church, spending countless hours volunteering his time to the exterior beautification of the church. He knew God, and was a loving Christian man.

            Ronnie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Faye O’Neal of Bay City, Texas; a son, Ronald Stenson O’Neal Jr. and his wife Patricia of Bryan, Texas; a daughter, Stefanie Hackfeld and her husband Gerald of Bay City, Texas; grandchildren, Brandon O’Neal and his wife Rebecca, Brittany O’Neal, Brady O’Neal, Sarah Hackfeld and David Hackfeld and his wife Katie; greatgrandchildren, Bryce, Kortlyn, Rilyn and Addy Hackfeld; two brothers, Freddie and Mike O’Neal.

            He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Shelly Hackfeld; and his parents, F.E. and Virginia O’Neal.

            Active pallbearers are Brandon O’Neal, Brady O’Neal, David Hackfeld, Bryce Hackfeld, Ron Bebe, Ray Horton, Bill Cornman, and Thomas Orsak. Honorary pallbearers are B.J. Krenek, Jim Gann, Bob Allen, and David Allen.
