Larry Glen Chambless

Larry Glen Chambless, 82, of Bay City, Texas passed away December 15, 2018. He was born May 31, 1936 in Cedar Lane, Texas to the late Walter W. and Christine Hughes Chambless.
Larry served his country in the United States Army Artillery. He went on to work as a Service Supervisor for Central Power & Light, retiring in 1994 after 34 years. After his retirement, Larry spent numerous hours in his shop working on wood projects for his bride, friends or grandkids. One of the many things he treasured was working on special projects with his brother Leo or spending hours teaching his grandchildren, great grandchildren or others about his expertise.
Larry married the love of his life, Sue Hines Chambless, on August 1, 1964. They had been married 54 wonderful years. They loved to spend time at their lake house in Lake Livingston; he enjoyed fishing with friends and family there.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Joyce Dunn and Judy Wesolick; and brother, Leo Chambless.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Chambless; sons, David Plant (B.J.), Ronnie Plant (Cathy), Stuart Chambless and Scott Chambless; brother-in-law, Charles Wesolic; grandchildren, Glenn Chambless (Karma), Michael Haldt (Kassie), Stephanie Wagner (Josh), Amanda Jones (Kevin), Heath Plant, Veronica Wetteland (Mike), and April Capps (Jimmy); along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family members.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Matt Springfield officiating.
Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, Texas.
Pallbearers are Hunter Chambless, Garrett Chambless, Josh Wagner, Matt Rodgers, Heath Plant, and Rock Armstrong.
Honorary pallbearers are Cash Chambless and Joe Clardy.
