Diana Gonzales (Miss G), 53, from Palacios, Texas was born on September 28, 1959 to Robert and Lydia Gonzales along with brother, Ruben Gonzales and sister, Nora Flores.
Diana is survived by: brother, Ruben Gonzales and wife Julia of Markham; sister, Nora Flores of Austin and ex-brother-in-law David Flores of Corpus Christi; two nephews, Ruben Gonzales Jr. and Robert David Flores; four nieces, Amy Elaine G. Marroquin (Saul), Melinda G. Zepeda (Sergio), Jennifer G. Rhodes (Justin) and Natalia Flores; two great-nieces, Audrey Marie Zepeda and Julyssa Alida Marroquin; seven great-nephews, Isaac and Anthony Zepeda, Enrique, Christopher and Christian Marroquin and Mason and Gavin Rhodes.
She is also survived by: numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and students.
Diana, best known as (Miss G) by her students, was a schoolteacher and a bus driver at Tidehaven I.S.D. She also worked as a dispatcher at the Palacios Police Department when needed.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Robert and Lydia Gonzales; her paternal grandparents, Ramon and Estela Gonzales; her maternal grandparents, Lauro and Lucinda Trevino and numerous family members.
A rosary will be recited 10 a.m. and the Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Monday, July 1, 2013. Rev. Bryan Heyer to officiate. Interment will be at Palacios Cemetery.
