Patricia Marie Kirk “Patsy” Wiginton

            Patricia Marie Kirk “Patsy” Wiginton, 88, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019. She was born in Houston, Texas, October 27, 1930 to Ralph and Mattie Kirk of El Campo, Texas.

            She grew up in El Campo and graduated high school with honors in 1948. She attended the University of Texas and graduated in 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. 

            She was employed for a time in Austin, Texas with STECH, a printing company. She then returned to El Campo. It was there she started dating Bill Wiginton, who was the brother of her good friend. Bill and Patsy were married April 3, 1954 at the Presbyterian Church in El Campo. 

            Patsy and Bill have two sons, William Kirk Wiginton, and Denton Scott Wiginton, and five grandchildren. They are members of the First Methodist Church in Bay City, Texas. Patsy was a member of Junior Service League, Daughters of the American Revolution and Matagorda County Texas Exes. She worked for a time as a photographer for the Bay City Tribune, and was also a photographer for 10 years for the Nuclear Power Company’s calendar project.

            She is survived by her sons, Kirk (Gay Lynn) Wiginton, and Scott (Nancy) Wiginton; and five grandchildren, Christina (Ben) Venker, Connor (Megan) Wiginton, Phillip (Megan) Wiginton, Michelle (Ethan) Wiginton, and Collin Wiginton. 

            A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the 1stUnited Methodist Church in Bay City, Texas with Dr. Russ Munch officiating.

            Honorary pallbearers for Patsy will be Lamar Evans, Bobby Wilkinson, Harold Jones, Collin Wiginton, Nina Venker, Michelle Wiginton, Connor Wiginton, and Phillip Wiginton. 

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Patsy’s name to the First United Methodist Church, 2300 Ave. H, Bay City, Texas 77414.
