Summer activities plentiful

Posted: Sunday, June 12, 2011 4:00 am

The Bay City Parks and Recreation Department offers some great activities and programs that would make a great addition to family summer fun plans—and the best part is they won’t bust the budget.

Mike Duke, Bay City Parks and Recreation Department director, explained some of the new activities that will soon be a part of the parks landscape in Bay City and also how he is working to improve some of the traditional programs that have enjoyed for years.

My concern is why doesn't Bay City offer something for our children to do here in Bay City. Everyone says stay in Bay City, spend your money here. Yet we have nothing for the kids in Bay City to do. Even the Parks and Rec Department takes our children out of Bay City for summer activites. Skating Rink let me guess El Campo, Putt Putt Fun House would that be Lake Jackson, Splash Way who knows and Houston. We don't even have a movie house. It is no wonder people are moving from here. What does Bay City really have to offer anyone of any age??????
