Boil Blast not stopped by rain

The Second Annual Matagorda Day Boil Blast was a soggy success grossing about $65,000 after more than 800 people braved the wind and rain Saturday, Sept. 29.

Though they set the start time back a couple of hours, when the gates opened up at noon, the people poured through the gates ready to enjoy a delicious boiled shrimp lunch and all the fun of the festival.
