The Bay City Police Department will sponsor a Social Wellness Health Fair from 9a.m.-noon July 7 at the Bay City Service Center, 2105 Ave. M. Blessing Hotel Fundraiser

The Blessing Hotel Fundraiser will be held Saturday, July 9 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the hotel. The event will include a car show, raffle, live music, auction, and hamburger lunch. Proceeds go to the up keep of the Blessing Hotel.

Citywide Food Drive

The Bee Project will hold a citywide food drive on July 13. All items collected will be distributed to local food banks. 4 Man Scramble Benefit Golf Tournament

Matagorda County Area Go Texan and Bay City Volunteer Fire Department have teamed up to present you a great golf tournament to support the county youth and local fire safety. This year’s 4 Man Scramble Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, July 16th at the well manicured Rio Colorado Golf Course. Registration begins at 11:30 am, with Shotgun Start at 1pm. The cost for this event is $80 -18 holes of golf, riding cart, range balls, lunch, door prize ticket, soft drinks/water and various awards. Quick Start Your Kayaking

A two day, get-started-right, kayaking course for beginning paddlers is scheduled to take place at the Matagorda County Birding Nature Center on the Colorado River near Bay City. It will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19 and on Thursday, July 21. It is open to all persons 12 and older in moderately good condition. This is an ACA-sanctioned program (i.e., Kayaking Quick Start) designed to equip participants with an understanding of basic paddling know-how and accepted boating/water safety practices.
