“Gypsy,” The Musical

The BCHS Theatre Department will present “Gypsy,” the Musical at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10-12 and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at the BCHS Theatre. Tickets are $7 and may be purchased at BCHS front desk and Homestead on the square in Bay City.

Christmas Campout

The Christmas Campout at Riverside Park will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11. This year’s movie will be Disney’s “The Santa Clause.” Families are encouraged to bring out blankets and/or small tents to view the movie and stay at the park overnight. The Trail of Lights will be lit up for everyone to enjoy. Fee is $10 per car for the movie only and $15 for overnight stay. The Parks and Rec Department will sell hot chocolate and popcorn. Other refreshments will be sold by local food vendors.

Holiday Gala and Taste Tea

The Daughters In Progress Club will present their annual Christmas activity “A Religious Celebration and a Taste Tea” at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 at the Bay City Service Center. Supper With Santa

The Fraternal Order of Eagles 3232 will host a Supper with Santa from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 12 at 2100 Eagles Road in Bay City. An $8 entry fee covers one stuffed baked potato and photos with Santa (using your own devise.) Potatoes can be stuffed with fajita, pork, chicken or chili plus all the fixings. Limit two children per one purchased adult meal. Free hotdogs for kids with a paid adult meal. Proceeds go to Eagles local and state projects such as the UMC Health System level One Trauma Center in Lubbock.

Annual Live Nativity

Cedar Lane Baptist Church, FM 457, Cedar Lane, will hold its Annual Live Nativity Saturday, Dec. 12. Walk through is from 6:30 to 7 p.m.; drive-through from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Free to all ages.

Food Drive

Matagorda United Methodist Church will hold a food drive from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 at 817 Fisher Street in Matagorda.

Art League of Bay City Holiday Art Sale

Free Basic Pistol Course for Women+LTC

The Bay City Police Department will host a free basic pistol course for women plus a License to Carry Dec. 12-13 starting at 8 a.m. on a range off campus. LTC course is $75 for the license and $150 for state fee. Required gear is a pistol (.32 or larger- no optics), ammo (50 rounds- 3 attempts), pistol holster, closed toe shoes, eye and ear protection, hat and rain gear. The Ebenezer Baptist Church at 700 Whitson in Bay City, with Pastor Rev. Dr. L. V. Harvey, invites the public to the Heart to Heart Tea to be held immediately after the 11 a.m. service on Dec. 13.

Christmas Concert

The Bay City High School Bella Voce and Concert Choir will perform their Christmas Concert Monday, December 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the BCHS Theater. The event will be a free concert.

EAC Christmas Luncheon

Economic Action Committee will host its annual Christmas luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16 at Eagles Hall. Doors open at 10 a.m. All senior citizens in Matagorda County are invited to this free luncheon. There will be handcrafted items to raffle.

Christmas Market Day

The Christmas Market Day will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19 at the Bay City Civic Center.

Dodge for a Cause

The first ever “Dodge” for a Cause Tournament will be hosted on Saturday, Dec. 19 at the old BCISD Intermediate School. The event will raise funds to help purchase new playgrounds for LeTulle Park. There will be prizes for the most creative uniform and team name. The winner of the tournament will face off against the mayor and his handpicked dodge ball team. Registration ends at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4. The fee is $100 per team with a maximum of 20 players. Light refreshments will be sold.

Procrastionator Santa Market

The Procrastinator Santa Market will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec.19 at the Columbia Lakes Country Club. Admission will be free. The first 100 customers will receive a Santa market-shopping tote. For more information, call Esther Lara 979-345-6161.

I.M.P.A.C.T. Inc. presents the D.I.V.A.S. 7th annual woman’s conference January 8-9 at the Bay City Service Center, 2105 Avenue M. Friday doors will open at 6 p.m. with a speaker at 7p.m. from Crossroads Community Church, Lady Katrina Hartwell.
