The Nichols Street Fall Festival will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1 at 1200 Nichols. Free games, prizes, candy and food.

Annual Harvest Crusade

The Ebenezer Baptist Church, 700 Whitson St., Bay City, along with its pastor Rev. L.V. Harvey will be celebrating their Annual Harvest Crusade Sunday Nov. 1 at 3 p.m. The speaker of the event will be Rev. Michael Harris from God Said It Fellowship, Houston, TX.

VV Future Leopards Youth Basketball Deadline

The Van Vleck Future Leopards Youth Basketball will hold registrations through November 2. The registration fee will be $40 for first child $15 for each additional child. Applications are available at any any VVISD campus.

Groundbreaking Ceremony

The city of Palacios and the Palacios Beautification & Pavilion Committee will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 5th at 4pm. The community is invited to the South Bay Boat Ramp at the intersection of South Bay Blvd. and Sixth Street.

2nd Annual Trash-2-Treasures & Christmas Market

The Matagorda County Fair will host the 2nd Annual Trash-2-Treasures & Christmas Market Saturday, November 7 from 8a.m.- 5 p.m. The event will be free admission with booth rentals starting at $50. Art League of Bay City Judged Student Art Show Opening Reception

Inviting students grades K-12 - Free registration 11/1 from 2-4 p.m. and 11/4 from 4-6 p.m.

Turkey Dinner

CDA Hearty Turkey Dinner will start at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 at the KC Hall on Main Street in Palacios. Cost is $9 a plate including dessert and tea. Eat in or plates to go. There also will be a raffle.

Bay City Nature Club Meeting

Attention all nature lovers!! The Bay City Nature Club will meet on November 10 at 11a.m. in the clubhouse at the Bay City Nature Center. Join us for a guided visual tour as we explore Portugal. Veteran’s Free Legal Clinic

A Veteran’s Free Legal Clinic hosted by the Matagorda County Bar Association & VFW Post 2438 will be held Tuesday, November 10 from 9 a.m.–3p.m. at the Bay City VFW Post 2438, 1672 State Hwy 60 N, Bay City. Bring your DD-214. A representative from Congressman Blake Farentholds’ office will be there to address your Veteran’s administration concerns.

Houston Hospice of El Campo

Houston Hospice of El Campo will present An Empty Place at the Table Tuesday, November 10 from 2 p.m.-4p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 2216 Ave H, Bay City. The two-hour seminar will assist the bereaved with creating a meaningful plan to address the holiday season after the death of a loved one. Registration is required. The Annual Pancake Supper of the Bay City Kiwanis will be on November 12 at the Service Center from 4:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8. Come eat with the group or get your plates to go.

Give Back Fest!

The Give Back Fest, a community event organized by citizens to give back ticket sales to the food banks of Matagorda County and Wharton County, will be held from 5-10 p.m. Nov. 14 on 4521 Avenue F. There will be live music by Sam and the Clams and more. Free door prizes will be presented and as an open event, you are welcome to bring your own ice chest and refreshments.

Blessing of the Graves

A Blessing of the Graves will take place at St. Francisville Cemetery, southwest of Wadsworth, on November 14 at 2 p.m.

The Economic Action Committee will host its annual Thanksgiving luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18 at Eagles Hall. All senior citizens in Matagorda County are invited. Doors open at 10 a.m.

VFW 2438 Open House

Philip H. Parker Post 2438 and Auxiliary will host an open house and reception from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 24 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the post. The public is cordially invited to tour the post home at 1672 Highway 60 North and view various exhibits that will be on display.

Matagorda Lighted Boat Parade and Gumbo Cook-off

Matagorda’s Christmas Yuletide Sail-a-Bration is our holiday lighted boat parade held annually in Matagorda Harbor. Everyone is welcome to enter their boat and participate. Cash prizes are awarded each year for the best boats. There is always a spectacular fireworks show hosted by STP Nuclear Operating Company, the raffle always has some great items. The Gumbo Cook off provides a great food feast for all. The proceeds always help local charities. Join us for a fun-filled festival and help us welcome in the Holiday Season each year. November 27 at 5:30 pm at the Matagorda Harbor.
