Van Vleck inches a bit closer into the softball playoff race with a big 6-2 win over East Bernard Friday, April 12. The win moved the Lady Leps to 5-6 in district play. Boling and Danbury sit atop the standings with 9-1 records. Tidehaven is in third place with a 6-4 mark while East Bernard has a 5-5 record and Van Vleck has a 5-6 mark. Two games remain on the district scheduled. Van Vleck was off during Tuesday’s contests while East Bernard traveled to take on 1-9 Hitchcock. East Bernard is projected to defeated Hitchcock and move to 6-5 in district. On Thursday, April 18, Van Vleck will travel to take on Hitchcock while East Bernard travels to take on Danbury. A win by Van Vleck paired with a East Bernard loss would tie the two teams at 6-6 marks and possibly force a one-game playoff for the fourth playoff spot out of District 24-3A.
