BCHS inducts 28 into Workforce Industry Training program
Bay City High School inducted 28 new members into the BCHS Workforce Industry Training (WIT) program at a ceremony on October 30th at BCHS.
The new members are: Adrian Barrera, Luke Betancourt, Chloe Cano, Vanessa Cardoza, Jordan Carr, Garrett Dobbs, Samantha Esquivel, James Gay, Karl Gelinas, Aaliyah Hopes, Savanah Huffman, Seth Korenek, Aubry Miller, A’Mayah Payton, Eryc Pham, Blak Quinn, Taylor San Miguel, Isabele Vargas, Patricia Waddy, McKensie Wetzel, Justin Brinkley, Dylan Davidson, Vaughn Guillermo, Andy Pham, Carlos Reyes, Asuzena Ruiz, Madison Southall, and Faith Vargas.
The WIT program is for both female and male high school students who have an interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) related careers, two-year technical degrees, and/or certificates. By participating in WIT, students gain exposure to career opportunities and the confidence to consider further technical education. WIT students participate in mentoring activities with industry professionals, visit local industries, job shadow, visit colleges, hear from guest speakers and more. The WIT program is sponsored by the Nuclear Power Institute (NPI) at Texas A&M University In cooperation with schools and industries.
