Bay City XC claims 5th place at Cedar Park


The Bay City boys cross-country team came away with a fifth place finish in the Cedar Park Invitational JV event Saturday, Sept. 15. 

Bay City scored 194 points and finished by Cedar Park, who placed first with 48 points and Lake Travis with 50 points, Hays Buda scored 87 points and Austin Vandegrift scored 170 points.

The meet featured a lot of Class 6A and 5A schools and allowed Bay City to match up against junior varsity squads from these larger campuses.

Bay City senior Raheem Key led the way for the Blackcats with a second place finish with a time of 17:40.30 in the JV boys 5,000-meter run.  Junior Ramiro Vera finished 21st with a time of 18:50.90 while senior Alejandro Murillo finished 45th with a time of 19:32.40.

Sophomore Evan Ramos finished 72nd with a time of 20:08.90 while sophomore Antonio Sanchez finished 73rd with a time of 20:09.50. Brandon Mcelroy finished in 87th place for Bay City with a time of 20:25.00 while freshman Andres Asencio finished in 105th place with a time of 20:49.10.

Senior Leo Quintania finished in 127th place with a time of 21:08.30 while junior Marcos Lara finished in 156th place with a time of 22:13.00 and Efrain Robles finished with a time of 22:23.00 for 160th place.
