Leopards fall to LaMarque 74-53

 

Van Vleck took advantage of an open date on its schedule to step up in competition and take on LaMarque Tuesday, Jan. 8.

LaMarque, which is considered a district favorite in District 24-4A, ran past Van Vleck 74-53.

For the first quarter of play, the Leopards held their own with LaMarque trailing only 23-18 after the first quarter of play. But LaMarque ran out to a 21-6 second quarter to assume a 44-24 lead at the halftime break. 

The Leopards remain in a virtual first-place tie with Hitchcock on top of the District 24-3A standings. Hitchcock remains unbeaten in district at 4-0 while Van Vleck is undefeated as well at 3-0 in district play. The two district leaders tangled Friday in Hitchcock. The results were not available at press time.

In district action held Tuesday, Jan. 8, Palacios came away with a 74-45 win over Boling to move to 2-2 in district. Tidehaven fell to Danbury 58-55 to fall to 0-4 in district play.
