MCSO investigating criminal mischief
The Matagorda County Sheriff’s office is seeking information on a case of criminal mischief that occurred Oct. 20 at Miss Ellie’s bar in the 5040 block of State Highway 60 in Bay City that resulted in more than $4,000 worth of damage to a vehicle.
According to incident reports, Deputy Chase Ceder was dispatched to the bar at 2:21 a.m. and made contact with Eusebio Hernandez. Hernandez was working that night as a DJ at the bar.
Hernandez informed police that an unknown Hispanic male was “harassing him to play more Hispanic music.” Hernandez said he started to play some Hispanic music and mixed it up with country music at the bar.
At that point, the unknown Hispanic male became irritated and began to harass Hernandez again. The bar owner, Blake Johnson, told the male subject he had to leave and escorted him out of the bar. Johnson told police the male subject got into a black Dodge four door truck with custom after-market rims and left at 12:40 a.m. on Oct. 20.
When Hernandez went to leave the bar at 2:12 a.m. he noticed that both his front and right rear passenger windows were broken on his 206 Toyota Tacoma four-door pickup truck. When Cedar investigated the scene, he found a small concrete slab laying in front right passenger seat.
Film footage from the front parking lot of the bar showed the male subject leaving in his truck but showed the same truck returning back at 1 a.m. At that time, a younger male got out of the vehicle ran over to where Hernandez’ truck was parked.
The younger male is seen climbing into the bed of the truck and appeared to grab something from the bed of the truck and then ran over to Hernandez’ truck. A few seconds later, the younger male is seen running back to the passenger seat of the male’s truck and they are seen leaving the parking lot.
Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact the Matagorda County Sheriff’s office at 979-245-5526.
