Child dies in four vehicle accident

 

MATAGORDA – Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers investigated Friday a four vehicle fatality collision in Matagorda County that occurred southeast of Bay City on FM 457.

 The preliminary information indicates at approximately 6:40 p.m., a southbound 1997 Chevrolet pickup traveled into the northbound lane of FM 457 striking a 2016 GMC pickup, and a Dodge Avenger. Following the initial collision, the Dodge struck a 2013 Chevrolet pickup.

 James Watkins, 37, of Brazoria was identified as the driver of the Chevrolet. He was transported by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston for his injuries.  

 Antonio Maldonado, 41, of Bay City was identified as the driver of the GMC was not transported or treated for injuries.

The driver of the Dodge was identified as Alexia Knowles, 24, of Bay City. She was transported by Life Flight to Memorial Hospital in Houston for her injuries. Passengers of the Dodge were identified as, Alicia Williams ,49, Chundrea Tolbert ,28,  2 y/o male, 6 y/o. male, and,  8 y/o female, were transported by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann for their injuries. A 4 y/o female  passenger, of Bay City was pronounced deceased (at the scene) by Justice of the Peace Judge Jason Sanders. 

 Roishon Jones, 44, of Brazoria was identified as the driver of the Chevrolet. Passengers of the Chevrolet were identified as, Latosha Jones, 37,  5 y/o male, 12 y/o male, and 5  y/o.  None transported for injuries at the scene.

 This crash remains under investigation and further details are not available at this time.
