Ebony Club Esquire Charm Club celebrates 39 years of training children

Celebrating 39 years of teaching, the Ebony Club of Bay City has been training and nurturing students with the “No Child Left Behind” theme.

Each year, the program teaches good manners through its Esquire Charm camp and this year was no exception.

Graduates received their certificates and awards in the presence of their family and friends during a ceremony on Friday, June 21 at the Bay City Service Center.

Campers performed a drill team presentation for parents, friends and family and also included individual performances with songs of praise.

A special fashion show themed “From Generation to Generation” courtesy of CATO in Bay City included trends and fashionable styles for summer modeled by campers.

Presentation of scholarship recipient and royal court was followed by recognition of camp leaders and special closing prayer.

With a primary objective of developing self-esteem and improving educational status, the Ebony Club continues to provide children within the local black community with a sense of pride through 39 years of dedicated service and commitment.

In 1981 a scholarship fund was established in the amount of $500 for graduating seniors.

This year’s scholarship recipient is Madison Edwards.

Ebony Club’s Charm and Esquire roster include: Caleyah Brown, ByLynn Polk, Josiah Jackson, Elijah Hudson, Jasalyn Revis, Anoinette Batter, Zytavion Bree, Tamia Ramirez, Peyton Polk, Bryleii Polk, Jayla Woods, Zaryahna Clark, Caiden Brown, Chaniyah Beasley, Mykah Riddick, Versity Armstrong, Jayden Ellis and Lauryn Huffman
