JH Leopards split football tilts with Ganado

On Oct. 25, the Van Vleck JH football team traveled to play the Ganado Indians.

For the 7th grade game it was a big win for the Leopards. In the first quarter, the Leopards scored on a Reagan Thompson 30-yard touchdown run to make it a 6-0 Leopard lead. That’s how it stayed until Charlie Hill caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Brett Noster to make it a 12-0 in the second quarter.

Then the Leopards scored right before halftime on a Brett Noster four-yard touchdown run to make it a 18-0 game.

On the opening drive in the third quarter, the Leopards scored their last touchdown on a Brett Noster 50-yard touchdown run to make it 24-0 lead.  Both teams continued going up and down the field until the Indians scored late in the fourth quarter to make it 24-8, Leopards take the win.

This victory makes the Leopards 4-0 in district and 5-1 overall.

As for the 8th grade game, it was a tough game. The Leopards just couldn’t get the offense going and made too many missed tackles, the Indians made those missed tackles for an Indians’ victory over the Leopards 53-12.

The two lone touchdown scores were on a 10-yard touchdown run from Cameron Austin in the second quarter. The next Leopard score was on a 50-yard touchdown run from Kentrell West in the fourth quarter.

This puts the Leopards at 2-1-1 in district and 2-3-1 overall.
